Holly Carpenter opens the Christmas Market in Navan
– voted Ireland’s most Christmassy town!
Navan sparkles once again as Ireland’s most Christmassy town bringing the magic of Christmas and a winter wonderland for the festive season. Former Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter, reported to be dating Coronas frontman Danny O Reilly, let her festive spirit soar at the launch of the Christmas Market on Kennedy Place on November 4th with a flurry of snow and feast for the festive senses. This year Meath County Council unveils the most exciting Christmas Experience ever staged in the townfeaturing the Festival of Light, Christmas Markets, The Live Crib and a star in the sky could magically become Santa if you watch closely! Other special guests at the Navan Christmas Experience include special Olympian Francis Power who helped raise the purple flag and International Rose of Tralee, ElyshaBrennan. Navan town is really getting dressed up for Christmas this year with colourful window displays, extra trading hours, exclusive in-store promotions, special parking arrangementsand a Grand Prize Draw of a trip for two to Canada. The Navan Christmas Market is open every weekend from 11am to 6pm and every day from December 18th – 23rd with an eclectic mix of festive fare at Kennedy Place. The market offers a feast for the festive senses with delicious crêpes, hot chocolate, mulled wine, fresh baked goods, doughnuts and gourmet delights to whet the appetite whilst the Christmas crafts and candles make great Christmas gifts. A vintage kiddies carousel is sure to delight the little ones and the Live Crib opening on December 10th is always a huge attraction with Latisha the Donkey, Buttercup the Sheep, Chewitt the Goat and Gobbles the Turkey. International Rose of Tralee, Elysha Brennan will drop by to officially open the Live Crib on December 10th along with a very special guest coming all the way from the North Pole to see who is being naughty and nice!
Navan has always been known nationwide as a destination town for shopping and a centre of excellence for retail, dining, entertainment and hospitality. Voted Ireland’s most Christmassy town in 2014, Navan is determined to hold the title again this year.
