UFC Star Cathal Pendred signs franchise agreement with Chopped, the healthy food company
Franchise Discovery Morning | Chopped, Fairview, Dublin 3 | November 24th 10am
Dublin, November 12th 2015: Irish UFC star Cathal Pendred has been announced as the first official franchisee of Chopped, the healthy food company. This announcement is the latest milestone in the fast growing Irish success story from Dublin entrepreneurs Brian Lee and Andy Chen. The first Chopped outlet opened in Dublin city centre in Baggot Street in May 2012, followed by a second outlet in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and a third outlet which opened in Fairview in May 2015. The three outlets currently employ 66 people and the company’s growing success is a reflection of the current health food revolution in Ireland.
The success of the Chopped concept has led to the next logical step for this business; franchising. Cathal Pendred is already signed up and looking for a unit in the Dublin area and Chopped are hosting a Franchise Discovery Morning on Tuesday November 24th from 10am until noon in Chopped, 13-15 Main St, Fairview, Dublin 3 by registering at http://www.chopped.ie/franchise.html.
Chopped was developed to meet the needs of the growing number of Irish consumers who want a great tasting meal that is healthy, delicious and fresh. Everything about the distinctive grass clad interior exudes freshness and the visionary open theatre of food allows Chopped to offer a ‘create your own salad’ experience in front of the customer in minimum time. Crisp lettuce selections, garden fresh vegetables, salad dressings, and more than 30 ingredients are ‘chopped’ and freshly dressed into a unique salad bowl or in a sealed savoury wrap. Full calories are counted for each salad, wrap and sandwich and Chopped offers a delivery, collection, take-away and dine-in service, with fast meal service times. With all of the Chopped flavours created by a skilled team in central kitchens, consistency of flavour is guaranteed across all outlets.
To open a Chopped store, the turnkey capital cost is approximately €150,000. This includes a provision for working capital and the fee for a single store franchise is €15,000. With the experience and guidance of the Chopped management team and trainers, franchisees can build a strong revenue stream, create further opportunities for growth with a proven business model, and use market-leading EPOS technology to build sales levels with online and mobile app ordering.
Speaking ahead of the Franchise Discovery Morning Brian Lee, co-founder and co-owner of Chopped said:“We’re looking forward to the next stage of the Chopped story. Having Cathal on board as our first official franchisee is a big endorsement for the future potential for Chopped. We’re passionate about our product and Cathal is too. Ireland is in the middle of a healthy food revolution and Chopped has been at the forefront of this revolution since we opened our first store in 2012. We have a genuine passion for creating great tasting meals that are healthy, delicious and fresh.
